meow again, its time for papercraft tribute... this time to the little cat i've seen around who can play the keyboard. All cats can play the keyboard but only some make it to the big time. This is a special papercraft because it can move if you (carefully) turn the little handle. I made this papercraft a while ago but haven't put it out because I think its very hard to make, so I made a happy papercraft instruction video animation to watch to help anyone who wants to try.
I think you should only try this one if you are good at papercraft or really bored though. You have to be very careful when you make it. Sometimes depending on the thickness of you paper or card you have to adjust things like the size of the holes...scary now? woooo, its scary.
click on the little image to make it go bigger, think carefully about this one when you are making it. Also, if you do finish it, don't turn the little handle until it is dry (even then you should be careful) or you will cry when it breaks like I did the first time. Good luck, and Please watch the following video for the instructions or to enjoy and have a happy time (don't blink) and scary...
(please note this video doesn't show every every thing but those bits are easy, please enjoy^-^)

ReplyDeleteOoooo ^.^ I'm going to do it. Once I do this one, I will have officially made all of your blog paper crafts (for now) o.o they are too fun.<3
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the pattern! I motorized it and connected it to an Easy button (with sound). Here's a clip of it in action:
ReplyDeleteKeyboard MechArduino Cat!
Hope you like it!
Absolutely loved the papercraft, BUT THE VIDEO SUCKS! I realized in the end that i forgot to glue both E and F to the pole-thingy. That was really hard to make, because my flap wasn't printed. You must be using american format or something because it got really messed up on a european printer... the internet is global you know... the random dogs and stuff are just annoying and not funny. the animations were ok. please be a bit more clear in the future!! You have great ideas!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog. Please keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteReaaly nice blog, love the papercrafts. fav+
ReplyDeleteI made it!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! But it doesn't turn very well...

Ahhhh... cute!!! :)
ReplyDeleteSharing!!!
Good blogging!
It wasnt complicated at all! Easy and awesome automation papercraft. The only thing I found that could be improved was the design of handle to turn, as it was unstable and wanted to break off when I turned it.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot, I really enjoyed making this one!
ReplyDeletei did it! works excelent! thanks!!!
ReplyDeletethank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
ReplyDeleteExcellent paper craft. I enjoyed making it. I too noticed some weakness in the crank. I'm going to make some mods on the next one I build to fix that.

ReplyDeletealso did you happen to use a KO1
Holy crap, I did it! There were scary parts, but I did it anyway. Seems like my pushrods were a little too long. And, I had to use TWO pennies on each one. $.04! Oh, well, good investment. Thanks!
ReplyDelete:3
ReplyDeleteI may go crazy putting it together but it'll be worth every paper cut to have my own keyboard cat to play me off.
ReplyDeleteThis is completely awesome!!! I built it with a couple of friends, and it was so funny :)
